'Girl or Boy - Two Will Never Be Enough'. Artwork for Campaign City: Life in Posters Exhibition, at the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library (Level 11) at the National Library Singapore. Curated by Salon Projects in conjunction with the National Library Board. From 9 Jan - 7 July 2013.
The success of the govt's 'Stop at Two' campaign is interesting to me, since I'm a by-product from the 80s where my mother only had one child. Thanks to the internet today, the govt has to resort to national 'conversations' and convoluted dialogue sessions to get people to have more children. Will it work? My poster for campaign city 2012 recalls one memorable tagline used during the 80s ('girl or boy - two is enough') with a modern spin to reflect the desperation of the govt and pressure on citizens to have more children.
